Add Wood Elements
Some of the most popular concepts of wooden elements include wood beams on the ceiling, and hardwood floors. Other ways to incorporate wood elements are wood furniture, framing doors with wood, and incorporating wooden lighting. Some budget friendly options, that I offer, are our rustic switch plates. You can easily collect these over time and they range from 18$- 35$. In the photo below, you can catch a glimpse of our yellow birch tree bordering an entryway closet.
Incorporate Some Live Edge Shelves Or Furniture
Live edge wood is a great way to add rustic appeal to your interior. I've seen it done in many ways. Some Ideas would be to purchase a live edge table, frame a door with it, or even do an entire wall of it overlapping as a statement wall. In our house, we incorporated Live edge wood in our Living room entrance. We kept the space open with a bohemian swing bordered by live edge. For budget friendly DIY options, find your local Amish saw mill spots. I've seen free live edge wood many times at our local Amish makers. You can also place a custom order for a live edge coat rack from me for a rustic entryway. Our live edge wood comes from our own trees and our own hard work.
Give It Some Texture
Think visually fun textures such as wool throws, woven pillows, stonework, and cowhide area rugs. In our case, the texture is the bohemian swing with velvet pillows and plush blankets. We tend to keep a general color scheme so these all tie in together. Greens to match our plants, earth tones to match the wood, and my art to tie it all together. Check out this statement wall in our living room. We have hints of green in the moss, the antler mount, and the hot air balloon photos. These allow for a connectedness between the texture and the room. Click the photo of the clock to add this rustic art piece to your home!
